It takes about 2 minutes. We do not ask for your name or e-mail.
What to consider when choosing a dog
Size and space
A big dog does not have to be a problem in a flat, and a small one may need plenty of exercise. Think about space, but above all about the time you have for walks.
Energy and walks
Working and hunting breeds need daily activity and jobs for their brains. If you have little time, choose a calmer breed.
Coat and allergies
The longer or curlier the coat, the more brushing and salon visits. For allergies, look for breeds that shed little, knowing that none is 100% hypoallergenic.
Children and other pets
Some breeds are patient and playful, others more reserved. Contact should always be supervised by an adult.
Experience
For a first dog, gentle breeds that are easy to train save a lot of headaches.
Climate
Short-nosed dogs and those with a very dense coat suffer in the heat; small dogs with a thin coat feel the cold.
